The Guangdong arm of China’s National Development and Reform Commission is hoping to lower the cost of gas in the province to stimulate demand, according to the National Business Daily.

The agency wants to reduce the provincial citygate price at local PetroChina gas facilities from RMB 2.08 per cubic metre ($9.33/MMBtu) to RMB 2.00/cm, but faces difficulty in doing so because this would affect prices in other provinces.
