Mitsubishi to support Magnum plant’s conversion to hydrogen

Japan’s Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems has announced it will support the conversion of the 1.32 GW Magnum gas-fired power plant in the Netherlands to run partly on hydrogen as part of the European country’s Carbon-Free Gas Power project, the company announced on Friday.

The plant, which is located in Groningen province and is owned by Vattenfall’s Dutch subsidiary Nuon, Norway’s Statoil and Dutch gas company Gasunie, consists of three 440 MW combined-cycle gas turbines.
