Saudi Aramco plans to start producing unconventional gas from the kingdom’s North Arabia Basin this month, according to a Bloomberg report.
Aramco is also drilling for unconventional gas in the South Ghawar and Jafurah basins, said Khalid al-Abdulqader, the company’s general manager of unconventional resources.
The company has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Shell to jointly pursue gas opportunities. The MOU covers upstream projects and liquefaction.
