An agreement struck by Australia and the US to cooperate on developing Asian gas markets seems to indicate a slight shift in focus for the two export rivals.

In a little-publicised deal struck during Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s trip to Washington in late February, he and President Donald Trump agreed to work together to develop regional energy infrastructure in southern and southeastern Asia, where strong gas demand growth is predicted from early next decade.
