China aims to produce around 160 billion cubic metres of gas this year and to raise the fuel’s share of the primary energy mix to 7.5%, according to the National Energy Administration’s (NEA’s) annual energy work plan, released on Wednesday.

The production target implies growth of 7.6% from last year’s output of 148.7 bcm, which was up by 8.5% from 2016.
