China will boost its gas supply by increasing domestic conventional output, tapping shale and tight gas resources, and signing more long-term supply agreements with Russia and countries in Central Asia and the Pacific Rim, He Lifeng, chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, said on Tuesday.

He was speaking at a news conference at the National People’s Congress in Beijing. He added that construction of gas infrastructure – including pipelines and city storage facilities – will be accelerated.
