Novatek ups capacity at Arctic LNG 2 to 19.8 mtpa

Novatek has increased the planned capacity of its proposed Arctic LNG 2 project by 1.5 mtpa, to 19.8 mtpa, Deputy Chairman Denis Khramov said at a meeting of Russia’s Far East Development Ministry.

The first stage of the plant is planned for launch in 2023 with the second stage following in 2024.

Novatek is planning to build a 20 mtpa transshipment facility in Kamchatka to reduce the cost of shipping cargoes from Yamal and Arctic LNG 2 to Asia.
