OGA ups UK hydrocarbon production forecast

The UK Oil & Gas Authority expects 11.7 billion barrels of oil equivalent to be produced in the UK North Sea between 2016 and 2050.

The UK Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) expects 11.7 billion barrels of oil equivalent (bboe) to be produced in the UK North Sea between 2016 and 2050.

The projection is 2.8 bboe higher than it was in 2014, before the 2014 Wood Review was implemented, the OGA said in a note on Thursday.

The UK produced an estimated 1.63 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2017, the same as in 2016, and production is expected to increase in 2018 as new fields come...
