Slovakia to invest $200 million in gas production in Ukraine

Slovakian joint-stock company Nafta will invest $200 million in the development of Ukraine’s Yuzivske gas field, the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine said in a note on Friday.

Nafta’s decision was announced by Josef Levoča, the company’s head of exploration, during a working meeting with the representatives of the association.

Nafta has committed to drill at least 15 new wells on the Yuzivske field and invest up to $200 million in the first five years.

"We are confident that Ukraine can soon become an energy self-sufficient state....
