Duma rejects exports from Pechora LNG

The Russian State Duma has rejected a bill proposing gas exports from Rosneft’s Pechora LNG project.

Current regulations allow companies to export LNG only if they were awarded LNG development licences before 2013.

The rejected bill proposed moving the eligibility date to July 2014, which would have granted Rosneft the right to export LNG from Pechora.

The Duma energy committee said in its conclusion on the bill that the sale of gas for export using pipelines was much more advantageous for the budget than LNG, as export duties...
