Chinese LNG prices averaged RMB 6,607/t ($20.15/MMBtu) last week, down by 11.2% from the previous week. Fourteen LNG plants in seven regions – including Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia – slashed their prices by an average of one-quarter as demand from factories and manufacturers softened ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year public holiday, which runs from 15-21 February.
