The number of CNG-fuelled vehicles on the road in Singapore is falling, according to Today Online.
The number of private vehicles is down by two-thirds, to around 1,000; the number of buses has fallen to 12 from 44; and there are no longer any CNG taxis operating.
Higher purchase prices combined with higher maintenance costs and a lack of refuelling infrastructure compared with traditional petrol-powered vehicles has meant CNG is no longer an attractive option for motorists.
