Nord Stream, which transports Russian gas under the Baltic Sea to Germany and the rest of Europe, operated at 93% of capacity in 2017, according to the consortium that owns the pipeline.
Nord Stream delivered 51 billion cubic metres of gas to EU consumers in 2017 – a record high – according to the consortium. The pipeline reached “the highest utilisation since the start of operations [in 2011]”, it said on 16 January.
