Nearly half of the LNG consumed in China last year was trucked to buyers less than 500 km away from the seller, an increase from just over one-third in 2015.

China consumed around 19 mt of LNG in 2017, of which 48% was hauled by tanker trucks to customers within 500 km of the liquefaction plant or terminal, according to data from SCI International. The figure was up from a share of 41% in 2016, 35% in 2015 and 15% in 2014. Short-haul trips made up...
