Construction work on Italy’s section of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has been problematic, and so far 2018 does not look as if it will be any smoother.

Pipes have yet to be laid for the onshore or offshore sections of the pipeline. The project developer, TAP AG, is focusing on building a jacking station 800 metres from the coast in San Foca, part of the municipality of Melendugno.
