Gazprom’s gas exports to non-FSU countries fell by about 10% year on year over the first 10 days of 2018, according to Interfax calculations based on data from European gas transport operators.
Relatively warm weather in Europe compared with early 2016 and 2017 drove the decline.
The mild weather has also affected the volume of gas withdrawals from Europe’s underground storage facilities, with utilisation rates in late 2017 roughly similar to a year earlier.
