Nigerian generation remains limited despite pipeline repairs

Nigeria was generating only around 3.6 GW of electricity despite claims by NNPC that gas supplies on the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline have resumed.

Nigeria was still generating only around 3.6 GW of electricity this week despite claims by Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. that gas supplies on the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline have resumed, according to Nigerian newspaper ThisDay.

The country had 7.33 GW of nameplate capacity as of mid-December, about 60% of which was gas-fired. However, only 4.73 GW was available.
