PetroChina’s Indonesia subsidiary hopes to continue operating several blocks in the country that have contracts expiring soon.

PetroChina’s Indonesia subsidiary hopes to continue operating several blocks in the country that have contracts expiring soon, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the subsidiary’s chief executive, Gong Bencai.

PetroChina operates the onshore Jabung block in Jambi, and the Tuban block in partnership with Pertamina.

PetroChina is interested in the East Kalimantan block operated by Chevron and in farming into the Mahakam offshore gas block operated by Pertamina.
