Gás Natural Açu, a subsidiary of Brazilian logistics company Prumo Logística, has hired a consortium formed by Siemens and Andrade Gutierrez to build a gas-to-power plant in the Port of Açu in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The work is expected to start in Q1 2018.

The plant, which will burn imported LNG as well as gas produced from Brazil’s Campos and Santos basins, will have an installed capacity close to 1.3 GW.
