Taiwan has set a target to phase out non-electric motorcycles by 2035 and petrol vehicles by 2040, according to Petrol Plaza.

It follows countries such as France and the UK that plan to ban the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2040.

The shift is towards electric vehicles, but as transport companies seek to reduce emissions they could also look to use gas as a fuel.
