Western sanctions and funding constraints could delay the progress of Russia’s proposed LNG export projects, Fitch Ratings has said.

Western sanctions and funding constraints could delay the progress of Russia’s proposed LNG export projects, such as Novatek’s Arctic LNG 2, Gazprom’s Baltic LNG and Rosneft’s Far East LNG, Fitch Ratings said in a release on Thursday.

The agency said Arctic LNG 2 has the highest chance of going ahead in the medium term, but it warned there is still a risk that obtaining funding could take longer than expected.

The agency said funding the projects could be a bigger challenge than securing long-term contracts...
