The issue of including gas within India’s goods and services tax (GST) is likely to be brought up at the next GST council meeting because of growing demand from the industry, according to The Telegraph India.

The inclusion of gas is expected to help clarify the tax applied on the fuel and will encourage its use. Competing fuels such as naphtha, fuel oil and LPG are already included in the GST.
