A project to procure 489 gas-powered buses to operate in Bangkok has been expedited and the fleet will begin operations in June 2018, according to the Bangkok Post.

The sole-remaining bidder to supply the buses, SCN-CHO, will need to work quickly to deliver them.

It is possible that some buses could be purchased from China, but Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is keen for them to be built domestically.
