Yamal LNG plans to ship 40 spot cargoes in 2018 – including 14 before 1 April, when long-term supply contracts enter force, Novatek Commercial Director Lev Feodosyev said during the company’s strategy presentation on Tuesday.

A total of 72-75 LNG cargoes are expected be supplied in 2018 as a whole, including about 35 under long-term contracts.

However, the facility may ship even more spot cargoes next year given that its second train should enter service ahead of schedule.

Yamal shipped its first cargo earlier this week.
