Italian transmission system operator (TSO) Snam Rete Gas is looking to expand its business in China and would consider investing in carbon capture and storage (CCS) if the right framework was in place, the company’s chief executive, Marco Alverà, said on Wednesday. 

Speaking at an event organised by the Italian Embassy in London, Alverà said Snam will use its Global Solutions business unit, which was launched earlier this year, to offer “engineering and industrial consulting”.
