The United States could boost its influence over Latin America with LNG exports, US Senator Bill Cassidy has said.
“Increasing exports of [...] US LNG [...] will decrease Caribbean and Central American reliance on Venezuelan fuel oil, increase economic opportunities and offer a cleaner-burning fuel source for those nations,” Cassidy, a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, noted at a hearing on the Small-Scale LNG Access Act earlier this week.
