MEPs have voted in favour of a proposal that would put pressure on EU countries to raise their ambitions for renewables and energy efficiency targets for 2030. 

The Governance of the Energy Union paper was backed by a clear majority of MEPs in a joint vote by the European Parliament’s energy and environment committees on Thursday morning.
