Dominion Energy has started supplying feed gas to the Cove Point LNG project in Maryland in the United States.
“All major equipment has been operated and is being commissioned as expected following a comprehensive round of testing and quality assurance activities,” Dominion said.
All the gas for the facility’s 5.25 mtpa first train will be sourced from the Marcellus shale play. A Shell subsidiary, Shell NA LNG, has provided the gas for commissioning and will offtake the LNG produced, Dominion added.
