Sovcomflot to start using LNG-powered tankers

Sovcomflot (SCF), Russia’s state-owned shipping company, plans to start operating an LNG-powered Aframax class tanker in July 2018, the company’s chief executive, Sergey Frank, has said.

“In 2018, at the very beginning of the second half of the year, we will start operating a large-capacity green Aframax for the first time in the world,” Frank said at the Transport Week 2017 international forum in Moscow.
