Soma LNG terminal in Japan receives first cargo

Japan’s Soma LNG terminal received its first cargo on Wednesday following commissioning at the beginning of the month.

Japan’s Soma LNG terminal received its first cargo on Wednesday following commissioning at the beginning of the month, operator Japan Petroleum Exploration Co. said in a statement.

The first cargo was for 60,000 tons of LNG and was delivered by the Puteri Intan Satu, a tanker owned by Malaysia’s Petronas.

Full-scale operations are scheduled to begin in March 2018.
