Cyprus, Greece, Israel and Italy signed a memorandum of understanding in Nicosia on Tuesday to build the EastMed pipeline.

The four countries will work towards an intergovernmental agreement that will determine the finer details of the pipeline, the relevant jurisdictions and anything else needed for its development.

The countries signed a joint declaration in April to develop the pipeline, which will run from Israel’s offshore gas fields in the Levantine Basin to Cyprus, Greece and eventually Italy.
