Argentina is seeking to reduce its imports of LNG in 2018 as domestic gas production increases from the country’s Vaca Muerta formation, Platts reported on Monday, quoting a government official.

“This year we imported LNG between April and October, and next year we expect to import between May and September,” Marcos Pourteau, the country’s undersecretary of exploration and production, said in a presentation at the Latin American Energy Organisation’s Forum on Regional Energy Integration in Buenos Aires.
