Total will supply LNG to fuel container ships

French major Total has agreed to supply shipping company CMA CGM Group with LNG to fuel nine new container ships.

French major Total has agreed to supply shipping company CMA CGM Group with LNG to fuel nine new container ships.

The deal, which was announced on Monday, is for 300,000 tons of LNG per year for 10 years, starting in 2020.

Total said in a statement that it was considering chartering an LNG bunkering vessel on a long-term basis to deliver fuel to CMA CGM and other customers in Europe.
