PetroChina’s Xiangguosi underground gas storage (UGS) depot in Chongqing dispatched a record 21.97 million cubic metres (MMcm) on 29 November, beating the previous record of 18.32 MMcm.
The depot straddles the districts of Beibei and Yubei, and is the first UGS depot in southwest China.
It has 13 wells that can inject and withdraw gas.
