Eni and Sonangol to review offshore resources

Italy’s Eni has signed a memorandum of understanding with Angola’s Sonangol to review and assess offshore associated and non-associated gas resources.

Italy’s Eni has signed a memorandum of understanding with Angola’s Sonangol to review and assess offshore associated and non-associated gas resources.

The companies plan to form joint ventures on projects destined for both domestic and global markets.

Eni will become operator of Angola’s North block and had 48% of the block’s rights.

Previously, Eni controlled 15% of the onshore block.

Eni also holds a 13.6% interest in the 5.2 mtpa Angola LNG project.
