Novatek signs MOU with Japanese firms on Far East transshipment

Russia’s Novatek has signed a three-party memorandum of understanding with Japan’s Marubeni and Mitsui OSK Lines to study options for a planned LNG transshipment facility on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia’s Far East.

“The memorandum sets out the intentions of the parties and a specific plan of measures on studying the possibility of creating a complex for transshipment and marketing of LNG in Kamchatka territory, including investment in development of this infrastructure project,” Novatek said in a statement.
