Myanmar’s power consumption reached its highest level so far this year on Tuesday, hitting 3.12 GWh, according to Eleven Myanmar.

This is 13.8% more than during the same period last year, but the grid was able to meet demand.

Myanmar’s power consumption is expected to remain at approximately the same level for November as a whole.

The country generates electricity from gas, coal and hydropower projects. Production from coal- and gas-fired plants increased by 28% in 2015 and by 21% in 2016, and is expected to...
