Gas-focused drilling ticked up in Latin America during October. There were 20 rigs drilling for gas in the region during the month, according to Baker Hughes data. Bolivia added three rigs and Argentina added one, while Trinidad and Tobago lost two.
Bolivia’s government signed deals with Repsol, Petrobras, Shell and Pan American Energy earlier this week that could attract $1.6 billion in investment and boost gas output in the coming years. The deals cover blocks in the Iniguazu, San Telmo Norte and Astillero areas.
