First Asia-bound Canadian LNG cargo heading for China

Canada has sent its first shipment of LNG to Asia.

Canada has sent its first shipment of LNG to Asia. The shipment is expected to arrive in early December.

A 950-GJ pilot ISO container was delivered to Vancouver from FortisBC’s Tilbury LNG storage facility in Delta, British Columbia, and left for China on 18 November.

FortisBC expects to ship more LNG containers in December as part of a pilot programme that will determine the long-term feasibility of delivering future shipments and expanding the service, the company said in a release. The final destination and customer was...
