Iraq has hired Japan’s Toyo Engineering to help build a gas pipeline to Kuwait and a related petrochemical plant, according to a Reuters report.
Baghdad hopes the new pipeline will help reduce flaring and allow Iraq to finish paying reparations owed for the 1990 invasion of Kuwait, the report said.
Toyo is proposing to complete the pipeline and start deliveries after 2019.
