The United States will produce 30% more gas than Russia by 2025, providing European customers with more alternatives to piped Russian gas, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has said.  

Speaking at an event in Brussels on Monday organised by Friends of Europe, IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said the US would be the “indisputable leader of oil and gas” within 7-8 years, increasing its lead on Russia. The most recent IEA data puts US gas output at around 750 billion cubic metres in 2016, about 15%...
