Total uncertain of South Pars future as US threatens sanctions

Total has said it will be forced to re-examine its deal with Iran to develop Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field if the United States re-imposes sanctions.

Total will be forced to re-examine its deal with Iran to develop Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field if the United States re-imposes sanctions, Total Chief Executive Patrick Pouyanné has told CNN.

"We can do the deal legally if there is a legal framework," he said.

"If we cannot do that for legal reasons, because of [a] change of [the] regime of sanctions, then we have to revisit it."
