Italy’s Eni signed an exploration and production-sharing agreement with Oman Oil Co. and the government of Oman for the country’s Block 52 on Tuesday.
The Omani oil ministry selected the partners in May. Block 52 was tendered alongside blocks 30, 31 and 49, for which other IOCs have been lined up as explorers.
The ministry intends to sign contracts for the remaining three blocks by the end of this year, Suleiman al-Ghuniami, the ministry’s director of petroleum concessions, told Interfax Natural Gas Daily in October....
