JFE Engineering to build Indonesian LNG terminal

Japan’s JFE Engineering has agreed to build an LNG terminal on the Indonesian island of Batam in conjunction with Medco Energi Internasional.

Japan’s JFE Engineering has agreed to build an LNG terminal on the Indonesian island of Batam in conjunction with Medco Energi Internasional, a major Indonesian power company, according to the Nikkei Asian Review.

The LNG imported via the proposed 1 mtpa facility will be used for power generation. The Japanese company plans to invest up to ¥1 billion ($8.8 million) in the joint operating company.
