Spot LNG prices in Japan, South Korea, China and Taiwan averaged $8.83/MMBtu last week as Chinese buyers scrambled for cargoes to avoid a potential winter supply crunch. South Korean and Chinese prices breached $9/MMBtu for the first time since mid-January.
