Cuadrilla confirms second community benefit for shale gas drilling

Cuadrilla has confirmed a second community benefit will be paid related to the drilling of a second exploration well for shale gas in Lancashire.

UK exploration company Cuadrilla has confirmed to local residents that a second £100,000 ($131,000) community benefit related to the drilling of a second exploration well for shale gas in Lancashire will be split between all households within 1.5 km of the site.

“Those households within 1 km of the centre of the Preston New Road site will each receive £2,070 and those within 1.0-1.5 km will receive approximately £150,” the company said in a release.
