Lebanese energy minister calls for technical discussions in licensing round

Lebanon’s energy and water minister has asked companies bidding in the country’s first licensing round to start technical discussions.

Cesar Abi Khalil, Lebanon’s energy and water minister, has asked companies bidding in the country’s first licensing round for Mediterranean offshore oil and gas blocks on Friday to start technical discussions.

This suggests the process will continue despite the political crisis caused by the resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, who resigned in a speech from Saudi Arabia last Saturday and remains in Saudi Arabia.
