Jera receives first Wheatstone LNG cargo

Japan’s Jera has received the first LNG cargo shipped from Chevron’s Wheatstone project in Australia.

Japan’s Jera has received the first LNG cargo shipped from Chevron’s Wheatstone project in Australia, according to Reuters.

The Asia Venture tanker carried 70,000 tons of LNG from the plant in Western Australia to Tokyo Electric’s Futtsu LNG terminal in Chiba prefecture.

Jera has a long-term contract to purchase 5.2 mtpa of LNG from Wheatstone, which has a capacity of 8.9 mtpa.
