Florida East Coast Railway converts fleet to LNG

The Florida East Coast Railway has become the first railroad company in the United States to use LNG to fuel its entire fleet of locomotives.

The Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) has become the first railroad company in the United States to use LNG to fuel its entire fleet of locomotives, according to Railway Age.

FECR launched its 24-strong LNG fleet at the Bowden Yard in Jacksonville. It is also the first railroad to haul LNG as a commodity, under a Federal Railroad Administration waiver.
