Decision on Perry’s power proposal postponed

A decision on Rick Perry’s proposal for coal and nuclear power plants has been delayed until 11 December.

A decision regarding United States Energy Secretary Rick Perry’s proposal to keep coal and nuclear power plants from closure by paying them to keep fuel on site has been delayed until 11 December, Neil Chatterjee, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission chairman, said in Washington on Thursday.

"We remain on that trajectory," he was reported saying at an energy event. "I don’t want to have plants shut down while we do this longer-term analysis."
